SITE HISTORY Collapse/Expand
KRW75 was the AT&T; microwave radio relay site atop Short Mountain, Tennessee, northwest of the town of Woodbury. This site has a single-hop link to Cookeville, TN, as well as links that terminate in Nashville, TN and Knoxville, TN. This site's link into Cookeville uses newer parabolic dish antennas manufactured by Gabriel Electronics as opposed to the older microwave horns, but there are mounts underneath the newer dishes, which is probably where the old horns were mounted when this was a 4 GHz link that terminated at the GTE site in Cookeville. This facility features the typical AT&T; outhouse, but is unique in that the tower sits over top of the equipment building, but the building supports none of the tower load. This site supports a repeater on 451.325 MHz that operates under FCC callsign WNLP294.
