Wasco, IL long lines tower site   Collapse/Expand

A short haul long lines site on Town Hall RD built in 1962. AT&T sold the site to a local utility company in 1995.

Site History   Collapse/Expand

site was constructed in 1961-2 as a relay tower between Little Rock and Elgin CO. The tower had two parabolic dish antennas to support the telephone network. In 1979 the tower got routes added to Eola, Plato Center, and Plano. When more routes were added at the site there were more parabolic dish antennas installed on the tower which it did not have cone antennas. The site was shut down prior 1993 and all of the equipment was hauled out for scrap. In 1994 the site was purchased by Commonwealth Edison Co which uses the site for a private microwave repeater site.
