Four floor levels contained the operations, equipment, cafeteria, dormitory, bathroom/showers, recreation and storage areas. This huge underground building was mounted on springs and shock-absorbers inside a hardened shell. Of course it was fully self-contained with food, water, power generation, and fuel for extended periods. Above ground, only the tower, a smallish building enclosing the top of the elevator shaft and stairway, and a few air intake and exhaust vents are visible.
