Tower was constructed in 1952 as a relay between Chicago and Norway. Around 1953, the tower had its delay lens antennas replaced by parabolic dish antennas. Then in the early 60s the tower was upgraded to Western Electric KS15676 horn antennas and got routes added to Chicago #3, Goodings Grove, and Eola. The horns that would face to the Eola tower were two KS15676 horns on an out rigger platform near the lower section of the tower. The tower was also equiped with a Gabriel KS21972 horn antenna that faced to Norway. In 1992 the tower blew over by a tornado.
